UHSM Honduras Mission Trip day 1

Day 1 in Honduras began in Texas. The team rolled out EARLY at 5:00 am Saturday and headed north to DFW to catch the 11:30 flight to Roatan, Honduras. The LORD started early by placing CRITICAL OTHERS in our path to help us get to our destination. People like Susie, our Parking Spot shuttle driver. She made sure we got all of our supplies and luggage to the AIRPORT in plenty of time. We landed safely and hit the ground running, and so did A.J.'s luggage. It was more like sliding, after the door to the back of our shuttle van taking us to Sandy Bay Lighthouse opened while we were driving. Nobody was injured and A.J.'s suitcase is still intact.

Once we got to our place of lodging and serving, our team got right to work speaking the language of play. It was without a doubt one of the best ways to form new friendships with the children and staff of Sandy Bay Lighthouse Ministries. Holly got to meet Eduardo, a little boy she's been praying for since we first heard about this place.  Oh and no big deal, but I (BJ) found my new best friend, David. Yep, he's my favorite Honduran Astro's Fan. It's only day one and it's pretty safe to say we already LOVE this place.
