UHSM Honduras 2026 day 5
**Please read the photo gallery disclaimer at the end of this blog!
We started the day like any other, woke up, ate breakfast, and had our devo. Mom (Holly) talked over Matthew 7:24-27, Romans 12:1-3, and Colossians 3:1-2;12. She focused on the wise and the foolish and how the wise build their house on the rock, and the foolish don’t have a good foundation.
After the devotional, we waited for the kids to come up and have church with them. We got a song and a half in when the power went out, but that didn’t stop the Lord moving. We went into praising almost acapella then Pastor Marvin talked about how we have to always give thanks to the Lord, whenever. Even when hard things happen, we need to give thanks.
After Marvin’s sermon, we went up to eat lunch with the kids, and they served us shrimp, rice, salad, and cantaloupe. When we were done eating, we went up to get ready for the beach. We drove the new and improved bus to the beach with the kids by our side. We got to laugh and play with the kids, as we also enjoyed the clear water. Making sure we sunscreened up, no one got burned today.
After the beach, there was a little downtime before we went up to the children’s home to play basketball, soccer, or sit and make cross necklaces that allow you to tell the plan of salvation. The kids loved making their necklaces, and we loved sharing the story of Jesus and God's plan of salvation with them.
That's about it, it was a well-needed worship, beach, and rest day with our Sandy Bay family.
**Photo Update & Child Privacy Notice
You may notice that many of the photos we share publicly from Honduras primarily feature members of our mission team. This is intentional.
The Honduran officials and children's home leadership have asked that photos showing the faces of the children not be posted on public websites or social media platforms. We are honored to respect those guidelines as we serve alongside them.
If you would like to see additional photos that include the children, we are sharing those through a private photo album using the PhotoCircle app. Don't worry—it is completely free to download and use.
Simply download the PhotoCircle app, create a free account, and then email BJ at billyjack@uhbc.net to request access to the private Honduras Mission Trip photo album. Once you're connected, you'll be able to enjoy many more photos from our time serving and building relationships in Roatán.
Thank you for helping us protect the privacy of these children while still celebrating all that God is doing through this mission trip!
